Photoprotected Natural Amino Acids

Photoprotection on natural amino acids serves to "turn off" a protein function because this critical amino acid is not able to complete a function (ie post-translational modification). Irratiation of the sample or cell removed the protecting group releasing the natural protein in a time resolved fashion.
